One of my funniest fishing moments occurred some years back as my brother-in-law and I had gone trout fishing at Meramec Springs. I had decided that I was gonna make a cast downstream and let the current of the water help give my flatfish lure a bit of help in its motion.so I whipped my rod back preparing to make a mighty heave to cast as far as I could,and I whipped the rod forward,gazing downstream for the splash as the line hit the water,but nothing.I was beginning to wonder if I needed binoculars to see how far I had made that cast! After a few more seconds,Ilooked the tip of my rod figuring that the line had broken, but the line was there going up! I followed it with my eyes to see that I had snagedd a tree behind me! Some fellow anglers across the stream began to chuckle as they saw what had happened,and I was laughing too.I had bragging rights for that day for the "biggest catch" for sure! Unfortunately,I didn't have a camera with me at the time to get a photo of me and my "Prized catch"! LOL!
This video is of of guy who fared better than I did with regard to his catch,but I would have not tried to pull that huge monster up into my boat!
